This article, written in the heat of the current, tries to explore some of the reasons why, despite having achieved a second post-plebiscite agreement that modifies what was agreed in Havana, the achievement of sustainable and lasting peace remains a elusive dream for the country. Before analyzing the current situation, we reconstruct some historical background around the roots of the Colombian conflict and the previous approaches between the insurgency and the National Government, which allow us to assess the importance of the advanced until today. In a second moment, we describe the contents of the Havana Agreements and make a brief comparison with the agreement resulting from the incorporation of the observations of No’supporters. Finally, we propose some explanatory hypotheses about the failure of Yes in the plebiscite of October 2nd, and we return to the question about the obstacles that must overcome the Colombian society in order to reconciliation.
