The "passage" of the circulation of goods to capital ("the transformation of money into capital" following Chapter IV of "Capital") developed by Marx has been a subject of extensive debate. It is relevant from two levels. In the first place, when taking into account the concrete movement that takes place, capital appears as the immediate subject of the process of social metabolism. This means a critical step is taken in the development of the knowledge of the particular form of the human life process. Second, it is interesting to analyze it from an approach that emphasizes the methodological aspects of this "passage." Authors of the socalled "New Reading of Marx" and of the "New Dialectic" will be analyzed to point out some problems that arise when understanding the form of the dialectical movement that structures the development of "Capital" in general and the “passage” in particular.
