Political publications are useful entry points to interrogate certain historical moments and their actors. They even allow us to investigate the map of terms, concepts and notions that articulated the political debates in a space, and their mutations over time. This article explores these dynamics, paying attention, on the one hand, to the political-intellectual itinerary of a revolutionary Peronist publication, the weekly Compañero, which published two epochs between 1963 and 1970. On the other hand, it focuses on the meanings that this publication elaborated around the revolution as a political and practical bet, and its link with the figure of Juan Domingo Perón. In this interrogation, the situation of the Peronist movement and, in particular, of the revolutionary sectors within it that disputed for its hegemony in the period under consideration, are crucial instances to better understand what was manifested in the pages of the weekly. This analysis of the meanings of a key term in the imaginary structuring of the groups of the sixties and seventies in the last century and its link with Perón allows us to disarm the teleological interpretations of the Peronization and political radicalization of the 1960s and 1970s, which still characterize the studies of the period and its actors.
