We propose to analyze, from the memoirs of Micaela Feldman (1902-1992) the forms of construction and assignment of roles within the sex-generic system that were disputed during her participation in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). In this sense, we will give an account of the spaces of resistance and advancement of women within spheres traditionally reserved for men within a patriarchal and heteronormative historical system. In this regard, we will address firstly, the assignment of gender roles carried out on the battlefront that tended to place the militiawomen in roles traditionally attributed to women such as caregiving and domestic chores; and secondly, consequences for women, in the construction of sexual subjectivity generated by the battle front experiences in the militiawomen. The war memoirs of Micaela Feldman, Captain with troop command power in a Division composed mostly of anarchists and PUOM militants, constitute a document of great interest for expressing the conflicts derived from incurring, as a woman, in a land reserved for men and socially conceived as masculine.
