| dc.description.abstract | Based on autobiographical sketches and ethnographic and ethnobiological field notes, two vignettes are presented with the tiger (Panthera onca) and the condor (Vultur gryphus) as protagonists. These scenes, which will form the analytical substratum of this manuscript and were collected in different places, situations and times, have in common having been contrasted in dialogue: the first with the slogan of a conservationist campaign, the second with an academic audience. The aim of this paper is particularly to reconstruct, from the analysis of the above-mentioned circumstances, some aspects of the image/discourse on nature that permeates modern societies, in contrast with those that make up the indigenous and peasant collectives. Our aim will be to make manifest the way in which this image/discourse of nature intersects with other dominant ideas -such as those of gender and nation- and what articulation they have, in turn, with knowledge originating in nonacademic spheres. The final intention is to question certain topics of ethnobiological thought that allow us to twist the hegemonic direction that scientists have given to the link with the human and non-human others. | es |
