The main purpose of this article is to describe and analyze from a quantitative perspective the composition of salaried employment in agriculture in Argentina. Considering that the classic classification between permanent and temporary workers is insufficient and partial to account for the working conditions and the associated vulnerability of wage earners in the countryside, a cluster or conglomerate analysis is carried out based on a set of variables referring to their occupational, personal and labor market circumstances. A survey implemented in 10 provinces that belong to different agrarian regions of the country is used as source of information. The sample used is based on a design that guarantees statistical representativeness of households with agricultural employees in rural areas and urban centers with up to 25,000 inhabitants. The result is the formation of four groups of wage workers that differ in terms of their vulnerability type and level based on their working conditions.
