This article aims to present in a synthetic and concise manner a set of theoretical and practical keys that can contribute to rethinking in an innovative and strategic manner both the design and planning of sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean. It considers the current favorable and limiting conditions in the International Relations field, with a special emphasis on the impact of the digital revolution. The article raises questions about how the digital revolution can significantly contribute to the region’s sustainable development in the short and medium term. The article’s central idea suggests that a creative multi-actor and multi-scalar strategy could be beneficial in pursuing the reconfiguration of what it refers to as the new nodes of sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean. These nodes offer two distinct environments: Intelligent Local Networks (ILE) and Regional Infrastructure Links (RIL), each one with its own focus, capacities, and strategies.
