Which role do women play and have played within the academic literature about the Malvinas 1982 war? How do research about Malvinas conflict relate with research on other wars, approached from a gender perspective? Aiming to answer these questions, this paper presents a critical review on recent academic publications that, by adopting different points of view and from several disciplines, link women and wars. Focused on those works who privilege the discursive dimension of wars, a state of the art is organised towards two axes: violence and women's representations, and women's memories of war. Thereafter, a recapitulation is made on bibliography about women who took part in Malvinas war, a subject that emerged lately on the Argentinian public scene as well as on academic spheres. The closure of the paper consists in the indication of a gap area in war studies and the proposal to adopt discursive approaches to researching the topic.
