This article aims to compare two family farming experiences where agroecology is positioned as a central axis in territorial planning. We analyze the cases of the Moreno Agroecological Agrarian Parks (Moreno, Buenos Aires Province) and the Colonia 20 de Abril "Darío Santillán" (Jáuregui, Luján, Buenos Aires Province). The methodology for their characterization consists of primary and secondary sources. In addition to analyzing the statistics that characterize the productive and demographic characteristics of both districts, qualitative techniques were used to interpret the strategies developed by both the small-producer organizations involved and the municipal governments. Specifically, in-depth interviews and participant observation were used in both experiences, linked to research and extension projects within the scope of the Rural Studies Group of the Department of Social Sciences at the National University of Luján. The results reflect the direction of local public policies involved in territorial planning and the meanings attributed to them by the individuals involved. Finally, we reflect on the importance of promoting policies that consider the sustainability of agroecology as a productive practice that protects peri-urban areas, constituting a necessary element for thinking about and producing the territory.
