This article aims to reflect on different meanings of territory constructed within the framework of territorial r-existences carried out by indigenous peoples in their efforts to reorganize and reproduce common life in scenarios characterized by the neo-extractivist capitalist advance. The processes of (inter)community reorganization of the Diaguita people in the province of Catamarca (Argentina) are addressed as a case, starting from a perspective that focuses on the territorial dimension based on a predominantly qualitative methodological strategy. As a result, we find that these processes involve the construction of indigenous (inter)community territorialities from a relational ontology, based on the defense of the common and community rooted in the territory and the reproduction of their identity as a people. That is, they promote territories for the expanded reproduction of life; different – and even antagonistic – to the extractive capitalist territorialities that conceive the territory as resources to be exploited for the expanded reproduction of capital based on colonial logics that deepen the fracture of the society-nature metabolism.
