Popular wisdom, which is expressed in proverbs, found numerous detractors in the post-war context. Among them, Simone de Beauvoir and Boris Vian. The first writer had experienced after the Liberation the change that led her to develop, together with Sartre, the theory of commitment, which was channeled through textual formats and particular and patterned stylistic characteristics. Boris Vian, who was for a time a friend of the so-called existentialists, wrote, like her, a text through which he attacked the sagesse des nations. The purpose of this paper is to study, through a stylistic approach, the texts (albeit minor) of both authors in which they oppose these clichés.
