The aim of this paper is to examine the decisionist fallacy considering, on the one hand, its alleged prehistory in modern philosophy and, on the other, the political dangers that derive from it today. The paper begins with the question of whether decisionism can already be found in the works of Thomas Hobbes, René Descartes, and Immanuel Kant. After that, the commission of this fallacy is examined in the writings of liberal thinkers, such as Max Weber, Karl Popper and H. Lübbe. Finally, the political dangers derived from this fallacy are presented, considering its commission by the Protestant theologian Søren Kierkegaard and the Nazi jurist Carl Schmitt.
