The North Region of Argentina has some difficulties to improve its development. Despite the fact the region is rich in natural resources, there is social and economic marginality. As the result of infrastructure low density and because of the new geopolitical attractive as agricultural and mineral global center, regional energy and transport projects have been promoted at national and supranational levels. This could represent an opportunity to improve population life conditions, increasing regional competitiveness and making more attractive new investments, to generate a sustainable development. However, we observe a lack of articulation between the different instances of infrastructure promotion, and a weak correspondence between local interests and the potential possibilities of energy and transport projects to help territorial development and regional integration.
