This article examines the incorporation of the emotional education perspective into educational policies for secondary education in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. It focuses on interventions related to curriculum reform, assessment, and teacher training, as well as its institutionalization within the bureaucratic structure of the state and in the legislative sphere. The study is based on the analysis of official documents, regulations, legislative projects, and semi-structured interviews with education officials from the city. The main findings indicate that policies promoting emotional education in the city are grounded in an instrumental perspective, which attributes the solution to socio-educational problems to the individual and the regulation of their emotions. However, this approach tends to downplay the social conditions that affect pedagogical processes.
