Extensive surfaces of Lerma's Valley (province of Salta, Argentina) are covered of shrublands and bushes, with numerous multipropouses species that provide a great number of goods and services. Nevertheless, these formations - which level of degradation goes in increase - have not been an object of concrete measures of managing. They were considered to be potential energetic cultures. Four species were studied: A. caven, A. aroma, A. furcatispina and A. praecox. Considering the average of biomass and low heating power obtained, exist an energetic availability of among 190 to 230 GJ/ha - approximately-, which implies an energetic municipal potential of about 1.3 to 1.6 million GJ. A. caven and A. aroma show the best combustible qualities. Dedicated cultures and of opportunity they are potentially feasible of being implemented in the zone. Nevertheless, they are necessary major investigations on aspects of reproduction, plantation, managing and crop of these species like energetic.
