In this paper we propose to reconstruct the intervention practices carried out by technicians belonging to an association of producers in the horticultural periurban area of the city of La Plata (Province of Buenos Aires). To this end, we will reconstruct their formative and political trajectories, as well as the diverse knowledge they deploy in the productive territory. We will also investigate the relationships they establish with the producing families, the dialogues produced around the knowledge/doing about horticulture, and the knowledge that is valued by them and that comes from the shared practice. We start from a historical-ethnographic approach, which allows us to approach the perspectives of the subjects, taking into account their multiple meanings and practices in their daily reality. We conclude that the technicians self-identify themselves as political militants. However, at the moment of relating what their political tasks consisted of, they appear at times mixed with tasks of a technical nature, also showing this double function and how difficult it is to separate, at times, what corresponds to each one.
