The aim of this study was to determine the association between emotional regulation and satisfaction with the couple in people from Entre Ríos between 20 and 30 years of age who are in a dating relationship. In addition, it seeks to investigate whether there are statistically significant differences in satisfaction with the partner according to gender. The sample consisted of 205 participants, aged between 20 and 30 years (M=23.7, SD=2.58). There were 108 females and 97 males. The individuals were university or tertiary level students, residents of different localities of Entre Ríos, Argentina. The Cognitive Emotional Regulation Questionnaire in its Argentine version and the Couple Satisfaction Scale were administered. A Pearson’s r correlation analysis and a t-test for independent samples were performed. Satisfaction in the couple obtained a statistically significant negative correlation with Catastrophizing, and positive with Refocusing on Plans, Positive Reinterpretation and Rumination. Statistically significant differences were found in satisfaction according to gender, being higher in males. Limitations and recommendations for further research on the subject are presented.
