Affectivity is a dimension that organizes social bonding, creates subjectivity and modes of treatment. By understanding that we witness an affective turn in the educational field and that the territory of the emotional is subject of theoretical dispute, the present writing claims a socio-psychic and cultural-historical view. The interested review of Agnes Heller, Martha Nussbaum and Sara Ahmed’s work allows to highlight the public and collective nature of emotions intertwined with cultures, institutional plots and situated interactions. The school space under certain conditions and symbolic resources can promote affective cultures that function as symbolic moorings under a sensitive matrix of reciprocal recognition, respect and intersubjective involvement.
