The article analyzes the process of struggle of the workers of the Arcanco canning factory in the province of Mendoza, Argentina, and aims to understand how these women constructed their demands by combining their class and gender belonging. Likewise, it explores the place of female workers in the process of class formation in a decade marked by important socio-productive transformations. Under the hypothesis that the year 1936 was a pivotal moment for the provincial labor movement in which the workers of the new agro-industrial establishments carried out important feats of struggle, this strike process is analyzed where the workers showed that women had a prominent space in industrial production and class struggle. In this way, from the social history of work with a gender perspective and based on numerous journalistic sources, a first approach is made to a poorly studied topic for the province, thus making more complex what is known about working women at the national level.
