Resumen

Latin America is facing broad territorial transformations. These processes involve new forms of dependency that combine cycles of re-indebtedness on an expanded and multi-scale scale with extractivist processes. The new dependency refers to processes of deterritorialization and reterritorialization driven by financial capital. Capital attempts to advance over different territories while the peoples resist and build societal alternatives, giving rise to confrontations between different logics of social reproduction at the borders of the territories. Here we will address territorialization processes that (re)configure dependency in recent Argentina. Taking the case of food production as a starting point, we will articulate the ideas that cross dependency relations with the concepts of territory and frontier, showing how capital advances in a differentiated way (due to resistances) within countries, thus confronting different models of territorial development. This is a qualitative work of reflection, whose objective is to account for the reconfiguration of dependence in Argentina, pointing out some recent experiences that exemplify our approach. The methodology implemented includes a bibliographical review of the main concepts and an analysis of secondary sources. As a final reflection, we argue that dependency is articulated on the basis of territorial logics that respond to the valorization and extended accumulation of capital, in the face of which resistances arise that promote other counter-hegemonic models of territorial development, thus configuring an alternative to the advance of capital and a path in the search for autonomy and sovereignty extensible to Latin America.
