This paper aims to analyze the leadership theory postulated by Sarmiento through the lens of Machiavelli's figure. It seeks to demonstrate that in Sarmiento’s analysis of Rosas, Machiavelli is not merely used as a qualifier but serves as an alternative interpretive key for understanding politics. In this comparative study between Sarmiento and Machiavelli, the writings of both are examined, focusing on the creation of archetypes in their works, the emotions that characterize the intellectual’s view of the leader, and the development of a political bestiary. All these elements are used to analyze how a leadership theory is constructed from an aesthetic perspective, where sensitivity drives the political relationship.
