This article presents a comparative analysis of two recent territorial innovation initiatives in the province of La Pampa, Argentina: the Agro-industrial Territorial Node for Technological Surveillance and Strategic Intelligence, promoted by the public university, and the Precision Livestock Hub at INTA Anguil. The aim of this study is to examine how these initiatives contribute to the development of scientific and technological capacities in intermediate territories, the extent to which they are aligned with the socio-productive needs of their surrounding areas, and the knowledge linkage and transfer processes they deploy. Using a qualitative comparative approach, structured around three analytical dimensions (linkage, alignment, and capacity building), the article identifies similarities and differences in their institutional trajectories, modes of intervention, and territorial scope. The results show that, despite differences in organizational structure and scale of action, both cases converge in fostering local capacities and in articulating science, production, and public policy. The article concludes by identifying key lessons for the design of science and technology policy instruments and for strengthening private-sector strategies oriented toward territorial development.
