This article analyzes the activist commitment of Impulsar members —the youth wing of Mejorar party—, which took place in 2020. By means of in-depth interviews, participant and non-participant observations in party activities, and social network and party documents analysis, we reconstruct the experiences of the party and its members: their entry to politics, their sociabilities, their work in the party, and their identity. We show how the development of an activist commitment found two major obstacles: the pandemic restrictions and a structure of rewards that did not offer material benefits. These limits were comprehended by the activists in a peculiar way through a liberal identity that valued individual interest. The article contributes to a better understanding of parties singled out as liberal, conservative or right-wing in contemporary Argentina and provides tools for studying activism in small and new parties, in liberal parties, and in every political organization having gone through the Covid-19 pandemic.
