There are numerous examples in hunter-gatherer societies where it becomes evident that interactions between human and non-human persons are established from the relationship of complicity and mutual agreements. Thus, the human-animal relationship transcends that of hunter-prey, since among hunter-gatherers animals are considered persons, relatives, and/or mediums. In this study, focused from an archaeological perspective on small and traditional societies whose relationships are not well known, we will try to approach the subject analogously with ethnographic information, exploring new arguments to relate archaeological evidence of high empirical content with statements of greater theoretical content. To date, the archaeological record provides reliable chronological and functional information of the past, but very little information about social and ritual relations in the agenda. To this end, we consider a series of archaeological sites in Patagonia with chronologies between the Pleistocene-Holocene transition and the late Holocene, together with ethnographic information of the region.
