This work displays the comparison between two educational buildings located in Campinas (Brazil) and La Plata (Argentine). Lighting and conditioning energy demands are analyzed, along with their optimization when building improvement measures are applied. Greenhouse effect gas emissions were studied for each building as well. Regarding lighting, the contribution of daylight and the substitution of traditional lighting devices for more efficient ones, are studied. As for air conditioning, energetic behavior is evaluated and measures are taken according to the regulations of each country. In both cases, numeric simulation models were used to operate hypotheses calculation. We put forward the results of the comparison between the two buildings current energetic situation and their reduction once the new lighting measures have been set up in kWh/day. We infer a reduction of 59% in Campinas´s building and of 44% in La Plata´s building. For conditioning, we infer a 17% and 21% respectively.
