The search for truth about what happened under authoritarian governments marked the processes of transition to democracy and led to the creation of national truth commissions on crimes perpetrated. In Argentina, both the territorial expansion of national commissions and the creation of formats other than the one decided by the national government, in the provincial and/or municipal states, have gone unnoticed in the literature. Taking the above into account, this work proposes, in an exploratory way, different ways to reflect on the causes that created a diversity of Truth Commissions in the same national space. In this paper, we intend to reflect on the transition to democracy in Argentina and, in particular, the truth commissions (or Human Rights commissions) created in provincial territories between 1983 and 1985. The hypothesis that What motivates this reflection is that the creation of different institutional modalities to review the dictatorial past in the provinces of the Argentine territory is a consequence of social and political networks within the human rights movement and the positioning of political parties before official policy of real production. The present work corresponds to the theoretical and conceptual reflections prior to the field work.
