The “monotributo social” is a figure of fiscal policy into the Argentine legal system, which presents a relevant social projection. This tax category seeks to incorporate into the formal economy those actors in a situation of socio-economic vulnerability who perform productive, commercial or service activities outside of tax and social security regularity. For its purposes and considering the population segment that makes up its scope of application, this kind of “monotributo” became one of the most prominent social inclusion tools and an important mechanism for the promotion of the social and solidarity economy in the recent years in Argentina. Therefore, this paper tries to characterize, from an analytical perspective, the “monotributo social”, exploring its main components and describing the different aspects involved in its evolution.
