Given the implementation of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) and Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy (VIP), we examine the social and discursive conditions surrounding the enunciation of the right to abortion as a component of CSE. Through critical discourse analysis, we propose a triangulated methodological approach using complementary data. First, we highlight the real conditions under which abortion is discussed within the CSE framework, particularly in light of the neoconservative backlash that operates in multiple spheres of participation. Second, we explore possible pedagogical approaches to abortion based on a review of curricular materials, teacher training proposals, a quantitative analysis of the 2022 Aprender assessment results (which included questions about its inclusion in school curricula), and interviews with secondary school teachers. Third, we outline the necessary debates identified in activist work and social and educational research for expanding the right to VIP in conjunction with the right to CSE. We identified the intertextual framework that has supported the enunciation of abortion as a right within CSE, as well as the neoconservative discursive strategies that seek to mobilize families and teachers against these rights.
