Conflictividad y caracterización sociológica. Un análisis sobre los enfrentamientos protagonizados por los caballeros villanos en los concejos de realengo (siglos XIV-XV)

Abstract

El recurrente uso de la violencia por parte de los caballeros villanos durante sus enfrentamientos, contra sus pares así como sobre otros grupos sociales, podría entenderse como una de las expresiones más acabadas de su conflictividad y como una de las estrategias predilectas para alcanzar sus objetivos. La pregunta es si éstas acciones y disputas, por si solas, permitirían dilucidar la pertenencia clasista de quienes las protagonizaban y llevaban a cabo. La respuesta que se plantea intenta considerar no sólo las prácticas de los actores, sino también su rol en los mecanismos políticos que estructuraban las relaciones sociales de producción.The recurrent use of violence on the part of plebeian knights during their confrontations, with their peers as well as with other social groups, could be understood both as one of the most complete expressions of their unrest and as one of the favourite strategies to achieve their goals. The question is if these actions and disputes, by themselves, would enable one to elucidate what social class those who held and accomplished them belonged to. The stated answer aims at considering not only the actors performance but also their role in the political mechanisms which structured the social relations of production.
