This article proposes a discourse analysis that seeks to understand how the processes of refiguration and configuration are generated in the characters Grace and Frankie of the fiction that bears their names, produced and distributed by the Netflix platform. Starting from the theory of narrative identity developed by Paul Ricoeur from literary studies, and from what has been studied by Iacub (2010, 2015) in relation to this theory and aging, as well as from gender studies that address the living conditions of cis older adult women, a multimodal discourse analysis is conducted based on the concepts that give title to this work. The analysis was carried out on the first season of the fiction and seven scenes were selected throughout the 13 chapters that compose it. Among the main conclusions, it can be mentioned that, from the identity rupture suffered by both characters, they face a different refiguration process, although they share some characteristics such as life revision and reminiscence. Likewise, the configuration process is built individually, although the care between them is introduced as a way out of the conflict, which leads them to build a new narrative based on interdependence.
