Abstract

Although the species has a very wide global distribution, within this area it is restricted to wooded areas of the Chaco and Monte which are at disproportionately high risk from agricultural expansion and timber extraction. While this suggests the species is likely to be of conservation concern, too little is known about population trends - in part because while it appears relatively common it is difficult to detect - and the species' ability to persist in disturbed habitats to determine whether it is at risk of extinction, and it is consequently classified as Data Deficient
