The general aim of this article is to present preliminary results of a doctoral research in the fi elds of discourse analysis and history of ideas about the political traditions of the fi rst Kirchnerism (2003- 2007). In the framework of this research, we investigate the imaginary relationships established by the Argentine government between seventies’ youth militancy and democracy, taking into account the public speeches of former President Néstor Kirchner. We try to demonstrate how the offi cial discourse interprets the seventies militancy in terms of a democratic program and a democratic culture postponed due the implementation of neoliberalism (1976-2001). We affi rm, fi nally, that this democratic “anachronism” is an inseparable dimension of the refundacional gesture of fi rst Kirchnerism, based on a generational cleavage.
