In this paper I set out to analyse what I have called a visual epidemic, to investigate how the virus has been iconically constructed from an iconopolitical perspective. The thesis that I tried to demonstrate is that the SARS-CoV-2 virus needs a visible appearance so that health measures do not lose their power and effectiveness. This reading hypothesis will be applied to a corpus of images that respond to different aesthetics or modes of representation.
