In the first place, similarities and differences between learning competence selfperception (AcA, by its acronym in Spanish) and the nearby constructs: self-concept, self-esteem and self-efficiency are established. Later on, the INCEAPU - Inventory of Learning Conceptions and Experiences at University, is used on a sample of 674 students from five courses of studies, in order to implement a quantitative investigation, with a descriptive-analytical and comparative depth. The investigation is aimed at determining the effectiveness of the AcA in identifying differences among segments (I learn easily/it is difficult for me to learn) in three dimensions intervening in the university-level learning dynamics: cognitive processes, causal attributions and personality traits. An analysis of conglomerates and other statistical contrasts presents clear and significant differences in the three dimensions.
