The aim of the following article is to clarify the dynamics involved in the feeling of love. This feeling will be understood as an institution. We will present the confrontation of two theses that are opposed and that Merleau-Ponty tries to criticize and to overcome: on the one hand, a) Love is a feeling that arises as a response to a preordination. Love answers to what is naturally established; on the other hand b) love must be understood in a subjective way, as a decision that produces the feeling of love. From this confrontation, we will look forward to finding a sense in the institution of a feeling. This sense will be discovered across the contingency in the same way that it is found in the other institutions of the life. Finally, we will support that the institution is an oblique way between both positions.
