This paper aims to analyze some of the theoretical matrices included in the Contemporary Discussion of the Argentine Social Work. For such purpose, two theoretical-methodological insights existing in such discussion are resumed here: the systemic thinking and the postmodern field within Social Work. It is particularly analyzed how these, through the addition of the overall theoretical assumptions of such trends, articulate and build up a number of political, ethical and theoretical proposals for professional intervention. Thus, we may question certain views which study the current professional discussion and point out that the theoretical appropriation of social science matrices within Social Work is low or reduced.
