The present paper proposes, first, a conceptual itinerary through certain theoretical essays that explore the subject of the collection as an object of analysis: Gérard Wajcman, Susan Stewart, Walter Benjamin and George Perec. Second, we define the figure of catalogue reader as a particular kind of reader, whose semiotic operations are extremely related to the editor and the literary critic. Finally, and under the guidelines of these conceptualizations, we analyze the catalogues of three independent publishing projects of Argentinean poetry in the nineties to observe, in each case, their main characteristics, the different ways texts are organized and their reading effects.
