This article analyzes the institucionalization of employers and workers participation in the State during the golden years of first Peronism. Based on the reconstruction of the Economic and Social Council action we describe the sociopolitical strategy of the peronist state economic intervention and its attempts to legitimize that intervention. Research shows that although economic cooperation was different from originally projected, this Council anyway played a pragmatic role that, among other things, served for the government in its efforts to maintain a balance between business and workers, crystallized in a certain wage-price relation.
