Consideraciones poéticas y estéticas sobre los centones virgilianos

Abstract

Este artículo se propone ensayar algunas consideraciones sobre una forma poética característica de la Antigüedad Tardía: los centones virgilianos. Esas consideraciones implican un breve recorrido por la historia de los centones, por dos precursores que han sido determinantes para entender esta tipología literaria y por el ars poetica centonaria de Ausonio, el análisis de un pasaje sobresaliente de uno de los centones mitológicos y, por último, una reflexión final sobre qué contribuciones puede ofrecernos para comprender la estética centonaria un texto moderno y argentino.This article adduces some considerations on a characteristic late antique poetic form: the Virgilian centos. These reflections imply a brief description of the history of the centos, of two precursors that have been determining in understanding this literary typology and of Ausonius’ ars poetica centonaria, the analysis of an outstanding passage from one of the mythological centos and, lastly, a final consideration on what contributions a modern and Argentinian text can offer to understand the centonist aesthetics.
