This article analyzes the way in which the Argentine Business Association (AEA) was linked to the governments of the Kirchnerist cycle (2003-2015), analyzing some of its dilemmas and strategies from its political and institutional dimension, attempting an equidistant position from the most widespread interpretations. This relationship went through different phases that, with nuances, went from support and accompaniment to resistance and open opposition, conditioned by the economic policy tools that the government implemented and the incidence of the Association in political decisions. AEA’s organizational and political strategy underwent transformations that were expressed in the mechanisms and discourses used to exercise its power. At the same time, it built multi-sectorial alliances with opposing political forces and the judiciary.
