The goal of this paper is to reexamine the local aesthetic products in the dry northern region of the Mendoza province in Argentina. Specifically we focus on rural cemeteries of the town of Asunción, located in this geographical area. The need to create a theory grounded on the praxis and on the analysis of unique aesthetic cases compelled us to use a phenomenological methodology to analyze these products. We concluded that cemeteries are physical spaces that condense different cultural and aesthetic practices, and that are closely related to historical and social features of the communities that produce them.
