This article has two main goals: firstly, to explore a nostalgic attitude towards Argentina's sexual past in the literary work of Néstor Perlongher and Alejandro Modarelli and, secondly, to use that nostalgia as a form of historical and political critique. Arguing against those who distrust nostalgia, this article seeks to show that is does not necessarily entail political paralysis or historical distortion. In the specific case of the aforementioned authors, I shall try to show that their queer nostalgia for the sexuality of locas –alongside their suspicions towards the new gay times– can be understood as an original way to recuperate the importance of desire, pleasure and the body as engines to incite the political and historical imagination and to challenge more conventional ways to plot the development of homosexuality in Argentina.
