This paper presents an interpretation of Gilbert Simondon’s Imagination and Invention based on some elements of his theory of individuation, his philosophy of technicity and his studies on psychology. To achieve such aim, rst, this study will explore the sources of simondonian thesis about images. Then, attention is turned to the structure of the course throughout four moments of the genetic cycle of the images (anticipation, perception, conservation and invention). Thirdly, this study will present an analysis of the underlying hypotheses that accelerate the cycle and prevent a linear reading of reconstruction and reorganization activities (from cumulative causality to technophanies). Finally, the paper will explore the role of the force of imagination in the programmatic plan of our author.
