Among the most represented faunal remains in the Pucará of Tilcara, objects made of bones are highly predominant. In this study we provide a stylistic and typological characterization of containers, ornaments and tools with the purpose of contributing to the construction of domestic, productive and ritual activities that took place in different contexts. The results provide a series of trends regarding the use of certain faunal resources, and indicate an important differential selection of anatomical units, mainly appendicular bones and antlers. The high quantity and morphological diversity of bone artifacts indicate that bone technology constituted one of the most important productive activities alongside pottery, textiles, and metallurgy, supporting subsistence and tribute-related practices typical of the economic structure of Tawantinsuyu. These findings further reinforce the role of the Pucará as a specialized center of production.
