Iglesia, catolicismo y dictadura en Argentina. Memorias e interpretaciones de un pasado en disputa

Abstract

Este ensayo propone un recorrido a través de diversas lecturas sobre el rol de la Iglesia católica durante la dictadura militar en Argentina(1976-1983). Apela a un registro heterogéneo que incluye la voz de los obispos y su participación en la construcción de una memoria social sobre el pasado reciente durante la transición democrática, voces alternativas que cuestionaron el papel de la Iglesia desde el compromiso militante y las experiencias personal eso a través de investigaciones periodísticas y los avances alcanzados en el conocimiento histórico del período en el ámbito académico. En este ámbito es posible constatar tanto el crecimiento de las investigaciones, como la diversidad delos enfoques elegidos.This essay proposes an analysis of various readings on the role of the Catholic Church during the military dictatorship in Argentina (1976-1983). It appeals to a heterogeneous register that includes the voice of the bishops and their participation in the construction of a social memory about the recent past during the democratic transition, alternative voices that questioned the role of the Church from militant commitment and personal experiences or through of journalistic investigations and the progress made in the historical knowledge of the period in the academic field. In this area it is possible to confirm both the growth of the research and the diversity of the chosen approaches
