Eco Cabriada arises from the initiative to reuse pallet boards, most of which are discarded after being used by the industry, as a constituent material for reticulated beams. It is proposed to reformulate an element widely explored in the field of architecture, engineering and construction: the cabriada, taking into account the preconditions presented by the wood used for packaging, which is usually considered of low quality. The objective of this work is to develop a structural element feasible to be used in low-cost housing roofs, and to study its technical performance. The development, design and fabrication of a lattice construction element from recycled wood was approached and then the beam was tested for bending resistance according to IRAM 9363 standard (adapted for rafters). Structural collapse values were obtained at 332 kg (triangular truss) and 522 kg (straight truss). On the other hand, the steps of the production process were defined. In conclusion, recycled wood used in reticulated beam structures is suitable as a constructive structural solution for roofs and roof improvements in low-cost housing.
