This paper aims to analyze different regulatory approaches to the legal regulation of landscape. It will discuss the nature of landscape as a good and how should it be protected, based on an analysis of the “Barrio Los Arenales” case that took place in the city of Parana, Entre Ríos. This case arose as a result of a real estate development that impaired visual and physical access to the coastal area of the city. The special value allotted by society to these areas, in conjunction with land use regulations of the city of Paraná, denote the existence of a right to the preservation of the city landscape, which in turn could be inserted into a notion of urban common heritage.
