Construcción de un instrumento para evaluar la autoestima en niños de 9 a 12 años

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo ha sido operacionalizar el concepto de autoestima de manera válida y confiable en niños de 9 a 12 años de edad, utilizando diversas técnicas (escalas pictóricas y autoinformes). La muestra estuvo compuesta por 407 niños, de ambos sexos, entre 9 y 12 años de la Provincia de Santa Fe, Argentina. En términos generales, las propiedades psicométricas de la escala han resultado satisfactorias, siendo los factores encontrados psicológicamente interpretables y consistentes con la teoría.The aim of this work has been to operationalize the concept of self-esteem in a valid and reliable way in children between 9 and 12 years of age, using various techniques (pictoric scales and self reports). The sample was composed by 407 children, of both sexes, between 9 and 12 years of age from the province of Santa Fe. In general terms, the psychometric properties of the scale have been satisfactory, and the factors found were psychologically interpretable and consistent with the theory.
