This article analyzes the actions of rural socio-territorial movements (MSTR) and state institutions regarding inequalities related to land rights in Argentina, especially in the Northwestern Argentine region (NOA), considering their spatial distribution and the forms they took during 2021–2022. The methodology combines analysis of digital documentary sources, cartographic techniques, and qualitative content analysis. We observe that, during 2021–2022, protests, in situ land defense, and participation in public policies prevailed in the MSTR repertoire. These actions were aimed at the democratization of land, legitimized as a condition for achieving food sovereignty and addressing other structural problems such as hunger, unemployment, and environmental degradation. Meanwhile, state agencies reveal their ambiguity when addressing issues on inequalities regarding land rights, since they promote channels for participation in public policies that help strengthen the territorialities of the MSTR and, at the same time, block avenues for access to and enforcement of historically violated territorial rights.
