Western thought, deeply-based in humanism and anthropocentrism, has placed North-European man at the center of the universe, promoting the idea of superiority that justifies domination and colonization. This paradigm, present since Antiquity until the Modern Era with the Cartesian cogito, has generated the control of the modern subject over everything that differs from itself. This vision has led us to the current climate crisis, called the Anthropocene or Capitalocene. In this article, art is presented as an aesthetic-critical device that configures different schemes of making-knowing, expanding the field of what is imaginable and, therefore, of what is possible. The works of Adriana Miranda, Claudia Pérez De Sanctis and Paula Gaetano Adi are approached as imaginative practices that, through figurations of local canine breeds, grafted (inter)entities and robots, intervene in the regimes of dominant truth, leading to more habitable worlds. Imagination is then conceived as a situated practice that acts on reality, transforming society and creating new fictions that contribute to the construction of more desirable futures.
